Newcastle Brown Ale is my Favorite.

Well, since I am only 22 all I am going to say is that beer has been a part of my life for the past year (wink-wink). Living in the United States where there is drinking laws I am not even stepping into that grey area of when I first sampled my first glass of ice cold brewed heaven.

It was actually a New Castle Brown Ale that had inspired me to begin trying many other brews. Fairly priced, and widely available it has since become my most favorite beer. The taste is predominantly sweet, with a touch of sourness at the end of every sip yet still very smooth.

Since turning 21 beer has sort have been to me what traveling is to others. Some may say "a beach is a beach", or may not see a huge difference between the island Aruba and Barbados. To me every bottle is different and it will take ones palette time to adjust to the subtle differences between different brews. Once this happens you realize what you like, and will be more the just the yellow stuff that had you hurling at your last house party.

  1. Dear MegaBeerMan -- I'd love to know more about your history with beer. When was the first time (really, honestly...) you had a sip of beer? Who did you know who drank beer when you were growing up? What kind of beer did you see when you were younger? What did beer represent to you? Ever been to a kegger? That sort of thing. Also, even though you're blogging (about beer -- and what's better than that?), you want to use proper grammar. Things like spelling and punctuation count. One's palate. In the United States there are drinking laws. The taste is predominantly sweet yet smooth, with a touch of sourness at the end of every sip. Punctuation goes inside quotes. Things like that. Comparing your love of beer with other folks' love of travel is a terrific metaphor. Can't wait for the rest of the tour.

  3. New Castle had been a favorite of mine for sometime. If you enjoy it you should also try an I.P.A. from Dog Fish Head Brewing Company or a selection from the Great Lakes Company. Both are very good choices.

  4. Here's a great link to a New Yorker story on the rise of extreme beer: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/11/24/081124fa_fact_bilger

    Cheers!

  5. Its funny because in the united states you have to be 21 to drink but in Jamaica the age group is 18 and the law is not really enforced. It seems to me like u love drinking beer and its apart of ur everyday lifestyle.I really dont drink so i wouldnt know what it feels like to drink beer but i can empathize and through that I know its fun.
